Description
This month's YPO luncheon will be held at the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce. Rather than lunch being "on your own," we will have Jason's Deli put together a lunch for us so we are collecting lunch fees in advance. Please register early so we have a head count for the food order! Our guest speaker will be Felicia Young, and her bio is below. Hope to see you all there!
Felicia Young is a native of Beaumont, TX. While growing up, Felicia always had a passion for helping others. She spent countless hours volunteering for various organizations in Southeast Texas as well as several political candidates. In 2003, Felicia Young became employed at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where she serves as the Chief Finance Officer and Director of Global Development. Under her leadership, she developed programs to address housing, education, health, and financial challenges that families face.
Felicia successfully developed a nonprofit organization in 2008 that allowed for the construction of a neighborhood where there are 52 new construction homes for first time home buyers, a 126-unit townhome development for low to moderate income families, and a 124-condo unit for senior citizens. Since 2009, Ms. Young and her team have assisted hundreds of families obtain the tools they need to become financially stable and stop living paycheck to paycheck. She is an international author of a book called So What, a realtor, life coach, financial wellness coach, and mentor who facilitated countless workshops and events to improve the lives of families within her community.
She recently completed the construction of a middle school and installation of a water system in Konkori, Ghana, West Africa.
Ms. Young has received numerous awards in recent years for her work with community development, including the Entergy Energy Star award (2 years), the Theodore John’s Woman of the Year award, the national Gabe Zimmerman Community Service Project of the Year award where she was flown to Washington D.C. to be recognized for the work she did with affordable housing , the Pioneering Women 2020 honoree, and the NAACP 2025 Trailblazer Award
Ms. Young is very passionate about her career and is committed to serving God by serving others.
