Description
Join us for our monthly luncheon at The Toasted Yolk - Port Arthur, sponsored by Common Cents Credit Union. This month's featured speaker is Bret Baumgartner.
Bret Baumgartner has been in the restaurant business since 1998. Baumgartner started as a salad maker and prep cook for Carrabba’s Italian Grill while attending Colorado State University in Fort Collins. After graduation, Bret was offered a proprietor position at the Carrabba’s in Aurora, California, where he brought the location to #1 in the area. After that, Baumgartner was sent to Beaumont to see if the Carrabba’s in Beaumont was salvageable as it had been dropping in sales and profits and losing money. In just a few years, he and his team took the Beaumont Carrabba’s from #145 in sales and profits to #1 out of almost 300 locations. After working for Carrabba’s in Beaumont for 13 years, Bret decided to venture out on his own, and two and half years ago, he and his family opened the Toasted Yolk Café. Baumgartner is thankful for the immediate community support that has allowed the Toasted Yolk in Beaumont to maintain being the #1 store in both sales and profits since opening day. After making it through the pandemic and having an amazing support group both at home and at work, Bret was able to open his second location in Mid-County last November. They have also been embraced by the community and have continued to grow since opening. There are 20 Toasted Yolk cafes, and Baumgartner has the top two. This is due to the amazing guests, staff, and mangers that make this happen every day.
Bret lives in Southeast Texas with his wife and three daughters.
